Saturday Morning

I treated myself to a Nike+ back in January. Then I realized that I was going to have to calibrate it to my elf-length legs. That would involve marking a 1/4 mile distance and so on. It went into the gym bag, never to emerge again. And every time I thought about going out for a run, I'd talk myself out of it since the Nike+ wasn't usable in its uncalibrated state – nevermind that I managed to run for 6 years without it.

Happily, I now have something that I wish to avoid even more than running. It's exam season at the law school, and what with this being my last round and all, I just can't seem to force myself to engage. Thankfully, Spring has finally decided to stick around in Michigan and the weather cooperated fully. It's a beautiful, balmy morning. I hopped on my bike, rode the measly 1.5 miles to the local high school track and took care of what I needed to. Piece of cake.

Now that it's done, I have to laugh at how insurmountable some of the challenges that kept me from doing this sooner seemed: Waaahh!! I don't know if the high school has a track or where it is or if I can use it. Well holy hell. All I had to do was ride onto the school grounds and all of my questions were immediately (and obviously) answered.
